Plasma-Rich Platelet (PRP) Therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a cutting-edge procedure that harnesses your body's own natural healing potential. It involves drawing a small amount of your blood, processing it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting this plasma—which is highly rich in growth factors—back into the targeted area.

PRP & PRGF

Platelets are crucial components in wound healing; when concentrated, they release an abundance of bioactive proteins and signaling molecules that stimulate cellular regeneration, collagen production, and tissue repair. Because the substance is derived from your own blood (autologous), the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is minimized.

Platelet-Rich Growth Factors (PRGF) is an alternative term sometimes used for Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). It explicitly emphasizes the active components responsible for the therapeutic effect: the growth factors concentrated within the plasma. Essentially, when blood is processed to create PRP, the resulting solution is exceptionally rich in these signaling proteins (e.g., PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, IGF) that stimulate cellular growth, differentiation, and tissue repair.

The Mechanism: PRGF/PRP works by providing a massive, localized dose of the body's natural healing and regenerative signals directly to a damaged or aging area. It acts as a biological scaffold and signaling hub, recruiting local stem cells and initiating the cascade necessary for building new collagen, elastin, bone, and soft tissue.

The Benefit: It serves as a natural, autologous (derived from the patient's own body) substance to promote healing, regeneration, and rejuvenation with minimal risk of allergic reaction. It is applied across musculoskeletal, aesthetic, and sexual health procedures to enhance the body's intrinsic repair processes.

PRP/PRGF can never be “FDA-approved” because it is not a drug or foreign substance.  This is YOUR OWN blood being processed and given back to you.

Tucker Integrative Medical Group utilizes FDA-approved laboratory machines to process your blood to create PRP/PRGF.
